GIFTED, TRAINED, AND SENT
On Sunday, April 29, 2007 Phil Keller was commissioned as a Stephen Leader at Christ Lutheran Church. Phil attended a Stephen Series Leader's Training Course in St. Louis in April. He spent seven days learning to implement
and direct Stephen Ministry, a system of Christian caregiving. Phil joins 3 other Stephen Leaders and 10 Stephen Ministers at Christ Lutheran. Stephen Ministry gives churches an effective way to train and organize members
to provide one-to-one Christian care to individuals struggling with a crisis such as grief, divorce, loneliness, relocation, hospitalization, and terminal illness. Pictured (left to right): "Phil Keller as Stephen Ministry Leader
and Commissioners were Eileen Hintzen, Pastor Leland Lochhaas and Bev Hoeft."

CHRISTMAS CONCERT - CLC - December 12, 2007
|
Christ Lutheran Church celebrated the tradition of Quilt Sunday on October 22nd. Women of the church made 30 quilts this past year to be forwarded
to Lutheran World Relief in Baltimore, MD. The quilts are sent to developing countries throughout the world and may be the only item some people own. What stories each quilt could tell if it could come back to HSV for a
visit! The sewing project at the church meets every 2nd Friday from September through May. Visitors are always welcome to help stitch and tie the colorful quilts.

Patsy Winter and Judy Magee are presented afghans by Carolyn Gustafson, CLCW President. Patsy and Judy had just entertained CLCW with their program "Packing Your Suitcases".
Traveling today by car, plane, or ship can be comfortable and safe if we plan ahead and take certain precautions. Helpful hints were offered about packing a small suitcase with tips on clothing, medications, cash,
signage and identification, snacks, and reading material. With these suggestions we'll be ready to go just about anywhere at a moment's notice. The program was held in the Fellowship Hall at Christ Lutheran Church.
